Providing Training for First Responders

A key responsibility of The Virginia Statewide Traffic Incident Management Committee is to ensure that all responders across the commonwealth have access to the proper and necessary training.

The Virginia Statewide Traffic Incident Management Committee is pleased to offer a free training course that covers all the latest policies, procedures, and best practices for organizations involved with traffic incident management.

This Virginia-specific course aims to make first responders aware of safe, quick clearance strategies for Traffic Incident Management.

This program emphasized the benefits of a unified multidisciplinary approach and was developed, reviewed, and field-tested by first responders and their respective agencies.

It gives detailed instructions and examples that involve clearing an incident scene as soon as possible to restore normal traffic flow while optimizing operational efficiency across first responders involved in an incident.
